A little look on “Log Horizon”

Just a little look. There’ll be no spoiler.

Today we have Log Horizon which is a japanese novel by Mamare Touno. The series follows the strategist, Shiroe, and the other players of the long-lived MMORPG Elder Tale after they find themselves whisked away into the game world following a game update. The world they once knew as a game is now their reality.

Shiroe (pronounced as Shiro-e) is a 23-year-old graduate whose bit of an anti-social, awkward guy. He’s a level 90 enchanter and usually act as a strategist and magician in his team. Traveling along side Shiroe is Naotsugu, a 25-year-old, guy who’s a proud pervert and a lover of panties (Claim himself as “the warrior of panties”) and Akatsuki, a girl who disguise herself as a guy before drinking a potion that enables the game to copy the actual appearance of the player.

That’s it I guess.

Don’t worry, Akatsuki being a girl isn’t a really a major spoiler considering they reveal it pretty early in the novel and anime.

Running from reality

 
Everytime I run, I wondered, who am I running for?

Who are we running for? For fun? Charity? Fame? Others or ourself?

Although I love running, I’m not good at it. I’m probably the worst runner you’ll ever see. But I still do it because it keeps me awake, keeps me alive.

I’m pretty sure everyone had experienced this. You start off slowly, and step by step you started to get faster and faster. Sometimes, you ended up sprinting. Why?  Because deep inside, there’s a voice saying

“You’ve done this far, do you really want to quit now?”

Everytime there’s trouble, I ran away in the middle of the night. Because everytime I run, I’m in my own world, a world where there’s no destination. Just me running around it and nothing else. There’s no problem, no fighting, no shouting.

It’s only me and the dead of the night.

There’s nothing wrong with running away from your problem from time to time.

Sometimes, reality itself is the problem.”

So everytime you thought of ending your life, take a run. Run as fast you can. Because life is a big race you need to prepare for.

Sitting in some restaurant.

Hello everyone.

I’m currently writing this in a restaurant near where I live. (There’s free wifi here and the toilets are full)

How was your day? Any screaming lately? Mine was full of it. I know it’s almost Christmas and all (It’s only the thirteenth) but come on, even Santa is still watching television on some igloo and you expect me to explain to your children why Christmas won’t come early?   (-, – )

Speaking of thirteenth, today is Friday the thirteenth. (Which is considered an unlucky day in Western and Eastern superstition)

I was walking around to find a place to write a new post and it started to rain. The rain was fine, it was more of a ‘light shower’ than a heavy rain. All of a sudden, there’s a pack of wild dogs who came out of nowhere started barking and running toward me. I was trying to act all cool because running during or after a rain is no good idea. I didn’t run, I was sliding on the cement and seeking refuge in some convenient store.

As I walk out of the store as soon as the dogs are gone the girl on the cashier smiled to me. ( ^ , ^)

Not sure about you but this is a lucky day for me.

Hello again.

How’s your day? Mine’s fine.

I’m actually writing this just to kill time because I’m currently downloading some dramas to please my boring life. I just hope it’s not some overly drama where a guy could easily beat up 10 dudes, while flying through mid-air and the grass started exploding as soon as he lands.

(To be honest, that sounds quite awesome)

It’s just a couple more weeks before the start of a new semester. I can’t wait. (Not really) There’s like a ton of homework I haven’t done.

Everyone literally have their own plans, and I’m here just waiting for somebody ask me how am I doing. My neighbours went to their relatives, my friends is with their family, my cat is missing, and there’s nothing left to eat. Which is a good thing because I need to lose some weight. (-_-”)

To do list :

• Lose some weight
• Watch some dramas
• Review some dramas
• Get a life
• Create a list

I hope all of you have a great holiday because mine is going nowhere. (literally)

It’s finally that time of the year where people are rushing in and out of the mall and started strangling one another for something that is half expensive as it use to be.

Or.

Eating till the end of time. (Or the end of year)

In fact I’ve been gaining some weight since November.

Stand Up! Drama Review?

Stuff happened and this is one of it.

(Those who are not a fan of Japanese dramas, look around now, turn back, close the tab, punch your screen, pull the plug, log out,  or  move to a different country) ( ^ . ^)

(Just kidding)

(While others are studying or having their vacation. I’m having a marathon of dramas)

The story of 4 boys struggling through high school as the only virgins left ( Yes, virgins ). As simple as it may seem, they are struggling more than just high school. Being constantly teased as the only virgins left, they have made up their mind to lose their virginity as soon as possible. This drama will make you laugh, cry and scream the top of your lungs just because of the stupidity

As cute and innocent as it maybe, it’s not. It’s also filled with various adult humour and some things that won’t make sense unless you keep replaying it over and over again. (Believe me, I’ve tried)

This story of summer – love, friendship, school, family, the hypocrisy of adults, complications of life, experience and failure is set in an everyday shopping district and shows the clumsiness of children who have developed a little later than their peers. It’s a bright romantic comedy that both young and old can appreciate.

Cast

• Ninomiya Kazunari as Asai Shouhei
• Yamashita Tomohisa as Iwasaki Kengo
• Suzuki Anne as Oowada Chie
• Narimiya Hiroki as Udagawa Hayato
• Oguri Shun as Enami Kouji

Ninomiya Kazunari plays a young, shy, high school boy named Asai Shouhei who initially had a crush toward one of his teacher. As the story moves on, he discovered that love is something more than just giving away your virginity, it’s about the emotions and memories that is cherished between two souls. (or more)

Iwasaki Kengo or simply known as Ken Ken is played by Yamashita Tomohisa. Among the 4 members of the virgins, he’s the only one who has a girlfriend. Eventhough he broke up with her later on. 
Ken Ken is a train lover. One of the gag in the drama is he can name any train that passes by their neighbourhood everytime. He’s also very intelligent compared to the others by getting a higher score in a certain exam. His mother runs a Love Hotel where he and his friends hangs out and talk about their dire situation.

The most annoyingly loud member of the group is Udagawa Hayato (Udayan) played by Narimiya Hiroki. He’s also the most perverted among them. (So perverted that his nickname is Togoshi’s Erotic Prince)
He’s guitar player and big fan of Sharam Q. (A japanese rock band)

He also over-react quite frequently during the whole story.

Next is Enami Kouji played by Shun Oguri. The captain of their school football team and the most hyped up person in the group. Although he’s the captain of their football team, he’s still single even after a girl confessed her love to him. He hates field trip because of a weird/funny incident that happened when he was a kid.
